Al Jazeera Media Institute is going to launch a new course on photography for interested public at large, the course will focus on nature photography with the aim to empower participants with required skills and techniques to capture and record beauties of nature and document them in amazing images.

According to the training department at the institute, prior knowledge on basics of photography and experience in this field is a prerequisite to enroll in this course, and above that each participant must have a tripod and a wide lens (20/24).

This course, in which photographer Hamad Al-Khulaifi is going to supervise trainees, will introduce trainee to basics of nature photography, tools used in photography and application of visual composition techniques for taking shots.

As for main themes of the course, they include general concepts of nature photography, general idea on beginnings of nature photography and its main motives in addition to identifying wonders of nature photography and its characteristics. Emphasis will be placed on the challenges facing photographers and how to deal with them, as well as understanding differences between a documentary natural image and an impressionistic artistic image.

One of the most important themes of nature photography course is how to identify technical skills and concepts of choosing appropriate lenses and equipment necessary for nature photography, in addition to understanding importance of image sharpness and depth of field. The course will also shed light on "filters" used and their related characteristics, photoshop image processing techniques, familiarity with visual composition that plays an important role in capturing professional image in addition to importance of light, shadows, blocks, lines and perspective. 

By the end of the course, participants will fully understand basics of nature photography, mastering tools and techniques needed to achieve amazing natural images. Finally, they will acquire ability to apply visual composition techniques to produce attractive images as well as understanding image processing skills and using Photoshop to enhance image quality and beauty.
