Al Jazeera Media Institute is going to launch in February 2024 a new course entitled: Documentary Drama Film, which aims to introduce participants to the concept of cinematic, television and digital documentary film, in addition to learning cultural, dramatic and aesthetic concepts of documentary film. Course participant will also learn how to use required tools and necessary elements to write scripts and understand the meaning of visual composition and visual language and its alphabet and how to use it a creative context.
 
This course will focus on types of documentary film and its advantage in cinema, television and digital platforms and theories of documentary film and its evolution from reality to realistic drama. Participants will also be introduced to the difference between fictional realism and film realism and learn about styles, dramatic construction and image aesthetics.
 
The course will be led and trained by Dr. Hossam Wahba, a PhD holder in symphony documentary film in neo-realism at the University of Weimar, Germany, and is a certified trainer at Aljazeera Media Institute for more than 18 years and has won many awards, including:  Rheinland Pfelz Festival Award in Germany, and Leipzig Documentary Film Festival Award.
