Student delegation from Qatar International School at the Institute

Al Jazeera Media Institute, in the framework of its effort to enhances practical understanding of media profession, received a delegation from Qatar International School consists of a group of students interested in the field of journalism and television and students responsible for editing school's magazine.
Students toured the institute's departments and studios, where they had the opportunity to have practical exercise on reading news before the camera, and were briefed by colleague Jana Al-Muslimani on importance of using body language in news presentation.
Students showed great interaction in colleague Raghda Jamal workshop, where she gave a detailed explanation about basics of journalistic editing, identifying different journalistic genres and how to write for each type. She also covered the progress of editorial process starting from editorial board meeting to site design. She also answered questions related to journalism profession of and its future tools, especially in the light of digital media development.
For her part, Mrs. Hodan Ibrahim thanked the Institute for hosting students, saying: "Thank you very much for the kind hospitality and for providing information and support. Students had a lot of fun and benefited from the insights they gained during this interactive tour.
Mariam Hamni, a student from the team, said: "I didn't expect to stand in front of the camera, it’s so hard but enjoyable. I discovered that TV presentation requires mental presence and great self-confidence.
This visit comes as part of Al Jazeera Media Institute's commitment to its vision of supporting new generations of media professionals and opening the way for them to learn by experience and engage early in professional work environments.
