Three AJMI Courses in Damascus
AJMI – Doha
As part of the “Media for Development” initiative, AJMI organised three specialised training courses in television journalism in collaboration with the Syrian Academy of Media, with 48 male and female trainees participating during July.
Twenty trainees took part in the “Voice and Presentation Skills” course delivered by expert trainer Salem Al Jahoushi. Participants praised the course, describing it as a comprehensive and enjoyable training experience.
The “Newsroom Management” course was delivered by trainer Bilal Benabid, currently supervisor of Al Jazeera’s e-learning platform, and was attended by fourteen trainees. Participant Ihab Khaled said the trainer stood out for his ability to turn theory into a vivid experience through practical activities and real-life simulations using concrete examples and scenarios, while giving ample space for each trainee to participate and express their views.

In the “News Verification” course, held as part of the programme, journalist Hadi Kharrat trained thirteen participants interested in verification on how to handle news content, assess reports and verify their accuracy, drawing on a broad range of open sources and digital platforms.
These courses are part of AJMI’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the role of media in serving communities and contributing to positive change in people’s lives.
