Under Al Jazeera Ambassadors’ Initiative: AJMI and RASD Center launch two training courses in Khartoum

Al Jazeera Media Institute, in collaboration with RASD Center for Humanitarian and Development Studies in Khartoum, has launched two specialized training courses for 90 journalists and content creators in Sudan as part of Al Jazeera Ambassadors initiative.

The launching ceremony was attended by Al-Tayeb Saad Al-Din, Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism in Khartoum State, alongside a number of officials from media and government institutions. This cooperation aims to boost field-reporting skills and advance human -centered (features) and digital storytelling in step with the transformations reshaping Sudan’s media landscape.
The first course, titled “Human-centered Storytelling in the field: From Idea to Narrative,” focuses on empowering and enabling participants to gather information on the ground and craft human-centered stories through professional methods that safeguard human dignity while illuminating social dimensions of people’s experiences. Trainers Amal Al-Baz and Tasneem Abdullah lead the two courses, guiding participants through developing story ideas, selecting characters, constructing narrative scenes, and transforming field realities into compelling human stories that reflect hardships faced by citizens accompanied by their aspirations, in order to raise public awareness and amplify voices of communities.

The second course, titled “Digital Story Production for Journalists and Content Creators,” explores skills required to produce digital content in line with professional standards and journalistic ethics. Training covers effective use of digital tools in fieldwork, producing multimedia storis, information verification before publication, and producing humane, professional content that respects audience and at the same time complying with the rapid technological changes transforming media industry.
This step marks the first collaboration between Al Jazeera Media Institute and RASD Center, reflecting both parties’ commitment to building high-quality training partnerships that contribute to the development of media landscape in Sudan.
