Course Description

"Self-engineering" or "stress management and building resilience" is a course on how to manage thoughts and emotions when facing challenges, especially after they became a larger part of our daily lives, specifically after the spread of the Corona virus. The course is characterized by the fact that the content is based on scientific evidence and theories in addition to the approved references in this field. This training will give you the knowledge to understand what happens in the human body and brain when you feel fear (stress) and provide you with techniques that will empower you to manage your perception of challenges and your response to emergency and difficult situations so that you enjoy your life and maintain your balance and health along with your ability to cope and solve problems.

Course Objective

By the end of this course, participants will:
• Define stress and understand its impact on health.
• Determine the scientific opinion on the possibility of changing brain structure.
• Discuss the importance of relaxing the body before relaxing the mind.
• Distinguish between concentration techniques, assertiveness and problem solving.

- “Little Albert” experiment and its relationship to the perspective on matters.
- Learning theory and its relationship to adaptability.

• Relaxation techniques:
- The importance of relaxation.
- Different techniques for relaxation.
- Correct deep breathing.
- Various breathing techniques.

• Mental focus and adaptation skills:
- Concentration techniques.
- The term "mental focus or alertness".
- Fundamentals of thinking.
- How to deal with anxiety and anger.
