319 trainees in four workshops at Al Jazeera Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Media

Al Jazeera Media Institute raped up four specialized workshops for 335 trainees on the sidelines of Al Jazeera Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Media, held on Saturday and Sunday 11th and 12th of January 2025 in Doha.
The first workshop was on “Utilizing artificial intelligence technologies from Google's cloud platform” to enhance content strategy and ensuring audience engagement, presented by Mohamed Khader from Google. The workshop addressed advanced artificial intelligence tools, such as predictive analytics and media workflow automation, and reviewed how to improve operational efficiency and personalize media content.
The second workshop addressed "Excellence in the Age of Artificial Intelligence”, Customer Data Platforms (CDPs) as a model for Media Transformation and presented by Mohamed Ali from Zeotap.
The workshop reviewed the role of artificial intelligence in analyzing embedded data and providing innovative strategies to target audiences, which contributes to enhancing returns of media organizations.
The third workshop focus on “Revolutionizing News Production, creating photo reports in 15 Minutes” led by Dean Arnett of the Thomson Foundation where he shed light on key video editing techniques using artificial intelligence, including creating high-speed video reports. The workshop also discussed ethical issues related to the use of technology in journalism, such as the impact of urgency on editorial integrity.
In the same context, Abran Maldonado, Ambassador of Open AI presented a workshop on “Artificial Intelligence in Media – Applied tools and ethics”. The workshop includes practical exercises on artificial intelligence tools for video editing and media work, highlighting ethical considerations and challenges faced by media organizations when using such technologies.
