38 participants in two training courses under "Media for Development" initiative

As part of its efforts to develop media skills, and in collaboration with 'Media for Development' initiative of Aljazeera Media Institute, the Institute held two training courses for the benefit of “Tafnid platform”, with total participation of 38 trainees from various nationalities.
Training was conducted by trainers Hossam Al-Wakeel and Mohamed Talaba, where they delivered a separate course for each group of participants. The first course, 'Building evidence-based stories,' held for 21 trainees and focused on enabling them on how to assess news content accuracy of diverse digital sources and platforms, using latest tools for news gathering and verification and how to implement clear and effective action plans for verification processes within professional media contexts.
The course aimed to reinforce practical skills of journalists and enable them to produce accurate and reliable stories based on evidence and sound analysis.
The second course, 'AI-enhanced data stories,' was designed for a group of 17 participants and lasted for four training days. Where participants were introduced to the concept of data journalism and acquired necessary skills for leading data-driven journalistic projects efficiently. Training also focused on developing competencies of collecting, cleaning, organizing and analyzing datasets, as well as transforming complex information into clear and engaging visualizations, thereby facilitating clear understanding mattering issues and enriching journalistic content with precise and impactful data.
These courses are part of a series of training programs offered by the Institute to “Tafnid platform” under training activities of 'Media for Development' initiative.
