40% Increase in the number of trainees of the Aljazeera Ambassadors’ Initiative

The number of trainees joined courses of Al Jazeera Ambassadors’ Initiative, that belongs to Al Jazeera Media Institute, increased during the first half of this year by 40% compared to the last year, as 989 trainees participated this year compared to705 trainees in 2022 at the same period.

According to Raghda Jamal, the general coordinator of Aljazeera Ambassadors’ Volunteering Initiative, Aljazeera Media Institute held 46 training events including 13 workshops and 33 training courses in 13 countries of the Middle East region.

Raghda continued: "36 well selected trainers from Al Jazeera Media Network volunteered for training in initiative courses this year, whether in-class courses or online.

The list of countries that hosted these courses includes: Azerbaijan, Palestine, Sudan, Qatar, Lebanon, Turkey, Libya, Morocco, Tunisia, Iraq, Jordan and Yemen.

It is noteworthy that the initiative held 41 training courses in the same period last year 2022 for 705 trainees.

Al Jazeera Ambassadors is a non-profit initiative launched by Al Jazeera Media Institute in 2012 to train young media cadres inside and outside the Arab world. Its aim is to deliver Al Jazeera's message and values, and to convey the experiences and skills of its employees through free training courses to empower media talents around the world..

The initiative is based on the principle of volunteering, where a group of Al Jazeera Media Network journalists contribute to training in order to disseminate their expertise in journalism to help building a pioneering generation of professional journalists.
