Al Jazeera Media Institute has been awarded the "Global Recognition Award 2026" in recognition of its pioneering role in developing AI-powered media tools, expanding professional training opportunities to reach thousands of learners worldwide, and providing access to digital media education for diverse audiences.

This award honors institutions and individuals that demonstrate outstanding achievements in innovation, leadership, and professional excellence. More than 12,000 candidates applied, with only 482 organizations and individuals selected, an acceptance rate of approximately 4 percent, underscoring the Institute’s distinguished standing among leading global institutions.

The awarding body evaluated nominees using (Rasch) measurement model to ensure the highest standards of fairness and objectivity. Assessment criteria based on innovation, leadership, impact, social responsibility and quality of outcomes.

The judging panel hailed several initiatives that have reinforced the Institute’s international stand, including "AI in Media Conference," which has become a global platform bringing together journalists, technology experts, and media professionals to explore the future of artificial intelligence in newsrooms. The panel also highlighted the Institute’s specialized training programs, which have benefited more than 82,000 participants.

The committee further commended the Institute’s record of offering more than 7,000 training courses, earning 36 international awards, and attracting over 120 million views across its digital platforms, reflecting its ongoing commitment to developing media professionals and promoting industry knowledge.
This recognition reinforces Al Jazeera Media Institute’s position as one of the regions and the world’s leading media training institutions, distinguished by its ability to combine AI-driven media innovation, expanded professional training, social responsibility, and unwavering commitment to high-quality professional standards.
