Al Jazeera Media Institute, in collaboration with Sila Academy in Algeria, concluded its Podcast Production and Presentation course for 15 young women and men passionate about audio storytelling and podcasting.

Amal Al Arisi, the course trainer, explained that the training days became a journey of self-discovery for participants more than a program for learning podcast skills. She noted that many arrived carrying dreams that had long remained under shadow and left seeing their dreams embodied into tangible projects.

She added that she was keen to pass on her passion for audio storytelling while instilling professional values gained through her experience at Al Jazeera, including respect for ideas, meticulous attention to details, and the belief that outstanding content begins with person himself before equipment. She also highlighted that participants gained first-hand insight into the secret of Al Jazeera leadership in audio media through a collaborative environment built on open discussion of every idea, searching for the closest approach to listeners and not underestimating any detail, no matter how small it may be seen.

Participants, in turn, expressed their appreciation for the training experience, describing it as an inspiring blend of learning and enjoyment. Trainee Abdelkader Ben Cherif praised the trainer for delivering a program distinguished by “effective communication, a deep understanding of different learning styles, and a balanced approach between constructive evaluation and motivation.” He added that the most valuable lesson he would carry forward was the importance of the core values for a successful podcasting such as research, patience, organization, discipline, understanding the context of a story, humility, and an unwavering commitment to quality.

This course forms part of Al Jazeera Media Institute’s ongoing efforts to provide specialized training in digital media and audio storytelling, and its commitment to continuously offering similar programs for aspiring media professionals across the region.
