AJMI launches two new programs in mid-July

 Al Jazeera Media Institute is going to launch "From on-site" program on eleventh of July 2024, which is designed by Content Team of Planning and Projects Department at the Institute and presented by the competent presenter Iman Ayyad.

The program addresses different contents and aspects of television work and provides in-depth advice and guidance to trainees and students of faculties of journalism, and those interested in developing their skills in the field of television talk shows and news presentation.

This program is based on editorial standards of Al Jazeera Media Network and the accumulated knowledge and experience of presenter Iman Ayyad through years of professional work, and is composed of fourteen episodes, dealing with important issues and topics such as how professional presenter is prepared before presenting  news bulletin, his awareness of the latest events in the world, perfect reading of news bulletin and attention to news content and details.

The program is also dealing with unexpected situations and surprises that may occur during live news bulletins, and in this aspect, the program presents live examples of presenter Iman Ayad, where she was presenting live news bulletin when important events that changed the reality of the world and the region occurs. These events include September 11, the outbreak of the Palestinian intifada in 2000, the Iraq war in 2003 and killing of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.

"From on-site" also covers other important aspects such as the relationship of the presenter with his team colleagues, such as director, producer and proofreader in addition to other topics of interest to those working in television journalism.

On eighteenth July, Al Jazeera Media Institute will also launch a new program under the title: Media translation, presented by Aljazeera principal interpreter Mr. Mowaffaq Faiq Tawfiq, who has long experience in the field of interpretation and qualifying professional translators.

The program deals with text translation or written translation, as it is called some times, and its distinctive characteristics that distinguishes it from other types of translation and its multiple styles and skills associated with type of translation.

In this program, Mr. Mowaffaq focuses on verbal interpretation of various types such as whispered translation, consecutive translation and visible translation, and explains what distinguishes each of these types and what they need in terms of readiness, skills and tools.

The programme also deals with simultaneous interpretation on which satellite channels depend on for live coverage of seminars, conferences and direct speeches by leaders and heads of state. In this aspect, Mr. Mowaffaq Tawfiq squeezes decades of accumulated experience and continuous experience and focuses on controls and ethics of this art and the distinguished skills it needs, which not only limited to mastering source language and target language, but also the need for deep knowledge of culture, customs, methods of expression and the heritage of society.

 It is noteworthy that Al Jazeera Media Institute has launched since the beginning of this year other three programs, including the "Terminology" program, which explains common concepts and phrases used in language of journalism, "Philology" program, which sheds light on the beauty of Arabic language and the nuances between its vocabulary and expressions, and "Open Coverage" program, which is considered one of important references for students, trainees and newsroom journalists in the field of preparing and managing continuous media coverage.
