AJMI publishes Data Journalism Handbook

AJMI– Doha

Al Jazeera Media Institute published its Data Journalism Handbook, in collaboration with our colleague Mohamed Haddad of Data Journalism team of Al Jazeera English. The handbook was issued on Sunday after the Data Journalism session held on the fringe of the 13th Al Jazeera Forum.

During the session, Mohamed Haddad, introduced the audience to a number of Al Jazeera productions that were based mainly on a large amount of data, such as Broken Homes, which followed the record of the home demolitions of the Palestinians by the Israelis occupying forces in the East Jerusalem since 2009.

The handbook is published in both English and Arabic. It introduces the fundamentals of data journalism including the tools and methods of journalistic narrations based on data through handling and processing it.

The handbook presented a few examples of journalistic works that relied mainly on data.
