Al Jazeera Ambassadors held a training course for 17 trainees

AJMI - Doha

Al Jazeera Media Institute has concluded a training course through "Al Jazeera Ambassadors" initiative, via Zoom, under the title: "News Editing Skills for Digital Platforms," for the interest of Yemeni Bran Media Foundation.

A total of 17 male and female trainees took part in the course, which was delivered by trainer Yusra Al-Asri. Participants praised the significant value they gained, particularly noting the clear improvement in their skills from the beginning to the end of the program. They emphasized that the trainer’s engaging style and clarity of explanation had a strong positive impact on their learning experience.

The course aimed to equip participants with a solid understanding of basic differences between various journalistic writing styles, and to help them distinguish between writing requirements for different digital platforms according to their technical nature and target audiences. It also focused on developing their ability to produce and structure professional digital content for websites and social media platforms, using digital writing techniques and search engine optimization (SEO) practices. Moreover, it reinforced the concept that effective digital content begins with platform- and audience-aware writing, rather than merely repurposing traditional journalistic texts in its outdated formats.

This course comes within the framework of "Al Jazeera Ambassadors" initiative activities, which aims to transfer professional expertise accumulated by Al Jazeera Media Institute to Arab media institutions, and to contribute to developing young journalists’ skills and enhancing the presence of professional digital content in Yemen and the region at large.
