The e-learning platform of Al Jazeera Media Institute held a training workshop on “open-source investigations in times of war” via visual communication (Zoom).
The four-hour workshop was moderated by colleague Saber Halima and presented by journalist Amr Al-Qazzaz, director of Sanad News Monitoring Agency of Al Jazeera Media Network, and attended by 338 trainees.
During two days, Al-Qazzaz introduced participants to how to differentiate between fabricated or misleading content, fabricating events and manipulating information, in addition to introducing them to the most prominent techniques of investigation and information verification during press coverage in times of war, in addition to highlighting the verification methodology adopted by Sanad Agency, and how to verify videos and photos published and circulated on open sources
