AJMI - Doha

Al Jazeera Media Institute organizes a webinar on Zoom under the title "Covering wars, field experiments" on Thursday, March 12/2026 at two o'clock in the afternoon Doha time, with the participation of a number of field correspondents. The symposium follows the current global events in a number of conflict zones around the world, and professional and ethical challenges they pose on journalistic reporting. 

The seminar will review experiences of Rami Abu Naima, correspondent of Al Jazeera in Gaza, Mohammed Abu Qamar, a reporter from Gaza, and Mekdad Hassan, a journalist from Sudan, in covering wars and conflicts from the field, and professional and security challenges journalists face when working in high-risk environments.

The event aims to provide journalists and interested parties with a unique opportunity to learn about practical experiences in field coverage, discussing best practices to ensure safety of journalists, and complying to standards of professionalism and objectivity while covering wars and crises.
