Investigative Journalism", as a new course on e-learning platform of AJMI course list

AJMI - Doha

Al Jazeera e-Learning platform launched an investigative journalism course presented by Phil Reese, Director of Investigative Reporting Unit at Al Jazeera Media Network.

The course consists of thirteen lessons, ranging from theoretical to practical parts that journalists need to produce their investigative reporting.

The course begins by introducing trainees to the specifications of investigative narration and where the ideas for investigations come from. The trainer also dealt in depth with concepts of open source investigations and computing-based investigations.

The course is not limited to the cognitive aspects only, but the Director of the Investigative Reporting Unit shares with trainees the necessary tools of searching for investigative stories and how to tell them based on hypotheses.

On the other side, Aljazeera e-learning platform published on its English interface during the current month of August a sport journalism course presented by Aljazeera English Channel editor, Fares Ghani.

In this course, trainees learn basics of writing sports reports, and how to go beyond the sport field to find stories of interest to humans.

They also acquire skills of conducting field interviews in addition to planning for sports coverage and employing data in sports journalism.
