Al Jazeera Media Institute in Istanbul concluded last Thursday a five-day training workshop for 17 male and female trainees from different Arab countries.

In the framework of Media for Development initiative activities, trainer Ahmed Zain led a 30 hours training workshop on screenwriting, where he trained participants to discover their latent talents and how to utilize them in creative writing, how to choose the idea, build the plot and create dramatic characters in order to develop the idea and write script on basis of John Trauby screenwriting model.

Course participants praised the course and expressed their satisfaction with the benefits they reaped at cognitive and practical levels. Trainee Bayan Ali said: The workshop is rich in discussions and sharing ideas, as the trainer is very cooperative and generous in sharing knowledge and scientific insight which contributed to achieving rich and fruitful educational experience. Participants proposed an advanced program to follow this foundation course.

It is worth noting that the screenwriter Ahmed Zein works in the field of training and management of specialized workshops in the artistic and media fields, and has written, produced and directed hundreds of documentaries and various dramas that participated in film festivals around the world, and one of his short films won the Bronze Award for Short Film at the European Festival of Independent Film in the screenplay category.
