Aljazeera Media Institute, in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, organized for the second consecutive year the “Young Journalist” course due to the interest and aims of the Ministry to build personality of students in an integrated manner, and to utilize expertise of local institutions such as a leading institute of Aljazeera Media Institute.

The two courses of this year were dedicated for preparatory and secondary school students where the first course was specified for boy schools and the second one for girls schools. Maryam Noman Al-Emadi, Director of the Educational Guidance Department at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, praised the cooperation with Aljazeera Media Institute, stressing that cooperation with the Institute in “Young Journalist” course is taking place for the second year in a row, due to the tangible benefits achieved by students who joined such courses, in terms of acquiring important skills in the field of media in general and in television presentation in particular.

She pointed out that the ministry will be keen to continue refining and investing these skills, and assigning them to cover activities and events of the ministry.

Rania Al-Jamal, the trainer of the program, expressed her admiration for the talented group of students - as she described - saying: "I am happy to participate in training a group of Qatari youth who have different skills, as well as contributing in publishing the culture of Aljazeera Media Network and its values of credibility, objectivity, and being a tongue for those who have no tongue."

Regarding the course, the trainer explained: "It focused on developing skills of trainees in reading news bulletins free of professional errors, in addition to dealing with broadcasting techniques in the television studio such as the AutoQ / Auto Reader, and this group was characterized by a high level in Arabic language.

She added, "I really enjoyed the opportunity to see the development of the students who participated in this course across three days of training. I look forward to continuing my passion for training and contributing to the development and empowerment of professional TV presentation skills for young people.

All participants expressed their satisfaction of benefits they received from the course, especially in terms of overcoming the dread of facing the camera and familiarity with the media terminology used in studio.
