AJMI’S AMBASSADORS TRAIN 190 PARTICIPANTS

The Al Jazeera Ambassadors Initiative, affiliated to Al Jazeera Media Institute, held four training programs during February and March of this year in Tunisia, Jordan, Iraq and the Sultanate of Oman, targeting 190 trainees in several media fields.

The first training program was held in Tunisia, in partnership with the National Syndicate of Tunisian Journalists, which implemented four training courses from February 1 to 18, 2023 in the fields of writing and artistic processing of the image, targeting 56 journalists.

The second program was held from February 19 to March 9, 2023 in partnership with the French Agency for Media Development in Amman. In it, 22 journalists were targeted in two training courses in the fields of news verification and digital storytelling. ​

In Muscat, a third training program was held in partnership with Sultan Qaboos University, from 6 to 9 March 2023, in which three training courses were conducted simultaneously in the fields of data journalism, marketing communications and storytelling on digital platforms. 60 students from the Media Department at the College of Arts and Social Sciences benefited from the courses.​

The fourth training program was launched in Baghdad on March 5, 2023, in partnership with the Sunni Endowment Office, opening with the comprehensive journalist course, which targeted 30 male and female journalists. The training program is scheduled to conclude on March 15 with the conclusion of the broadcast technologies course, which is scheduled to target 22 journalists.

All courses were provided by a number of trainers and employees of Al Jazeera Media Network, including Montaser Marei, Abdul Qader Dameesh, Shawqi Al-Agnaf, Muhammad Zantout, Amira Imuldan, Mudhar Juma'a, Atheer Abboud, Mohammed Al-Zaanin, Dr. Arwa Al-Kaali.
