AJMI launches an English language program for developing staff skills

Based on Al Jazeera Media Institute's interest in developing professional competencies of employees of the network, Training Department of the Institute organizes a training program to teach English language to beginner and intermediate staff levels.
This program, which is presented by Canadian trainer Alex Makar, is attended by 21 male and female employees from different sectors of the network, and according to the trainer, covers areas of practical English, including mastery of job skills such as offers and requests, making suggestions, polite rejection, as well as mastering e-mail skills through correct coordination of writing e-mail and employing appropriate key phrases. The program will also address business topics and vocabulary such as talking about job tasks and conducting short dialogues.
The trainer emphasized that trainees responded to the course enthusiastically and showed active participation in the lessons and pointed out that practical and applied activities in the course encourage learners to speak and use the language being taught and this is done through guided conversations that activate the target language.
In the same context, trainees praised the quality of content of the course and its relevancy to fields of work, noting that the volume of practical exercises in the program is almost 70%, which is fairly positive as described by the trainees.
It is noteworthy that the program was launched at the beginning of last August and will continue until the end of next October.
