AJMI- Doha
Al Jazeera Media Institute announced today, in a press conference, the launch of its 2026 training plan, revealing a qualitative expansion in its programs represented by implementation of 294 training courses covering 155 specialized titles, including 42 new titles and 58 courses delivered in English language, in addition to 6 blended courses offered simultaneously on-site and online. Training program falls under 13 training categories that reflect the Institute’s vision for developing media skills of professionals and keeping pace with rapid digital transformations.
Ms. Eman Al-Amri, Director of Al Jazeera Media Institute, said during the press conference held at the Institute’s headquarters: “2026 course schedule represents a strategic step toward in strengthening media training landscape, grounded in quality, innovation and in alignment with the needs of global media landscape amid accelerating technological developments.”
She went further to say: “The notable diversity in number of titles, diversity of languages, and variety of delivery formats represents a real reflection of our latest academic and professional partnerships, alongside long-standing collaborations established over the past two decades. Each year we place ourselves before a new challenge, and we remain committed to excellence in everything we offer. To ensure our programs align with real-world needs, we adopt a participatory approach that includes employees, trainers, and trainees through our official channels, whether via email or digital platforms, to design training content that equips participants with tools and knowledge required to produce professional content that meets industry standards across different platforms.”
In the context of ongoing development, Al-Amri explained that blended training is delivered in two training halls equipped with the latest technical standards to ensure high-quality audio, video, and real-time interaction, while participants from outside Qatar join via videoconferencing platforms. This enhances programs’ reach to a global audience and expands participation without spatial or temporal constraints.
This year’s training categories include audiovisual journalism, artificial intelligence in media, professional diplomas, technical operations, design skills, editing, digital media and other advanced specialized fields. The plan also introduces, for the first time, a blended training category that combines advantages of in-person attendance and remote learning simultaneously.
The plan also includes a wide range of advanced courses, including: handling breaking news, preparing television reports, multi-platform publishing strategies, audio story production, digital newsrooms, digital content management, voice-over skills, sound engineering, information security for journalists, artificial intelligence and its media applications, countering misinformation, augmented reality, and content design for platforms such as TikTok and Instagram Reels. It also includes courses in photography, editing, scriptwriting, and digital performance analysis, in addition to complete online programs to ensure wider access.
The Institute’s plan over the past five years has relied on trainee evaluations, performance analytics on its digital platforms and feedback from trainers, staff and the public, ensuring designing practical programs applicable in both traditional and digital media environments.
Al Jazeera Media Institute’s 2026 plan continues to enhance its impact on media training and development from the Middle East to Asia and Europe, through practical programs and professional and academic partnerships to build talents capable of keeping pace with media transformations and producing high-quality professional content.
