As part of its latest workshops for the current year, delivered by experts in digital content creation and visual storytelling, Al Jazeera Media Institute will host at its headquarters in Doha, a new workshop titled “Visual Storytelling on TikTok” during the holy month of Ramadan.

This workshop comes in response to TikTok’s emergence as one of the most prominent digital platforms for creative expression and dissemination of short-form storytelling content in an engaging style. It aims to introduce participants to fundamentals of visual storytelling in short videos, strategies of audience engagement, and effective use of platform’s tools to deliver messages in innovative and compelling ways.
The workshop is based on a training package that focuses on three main pillars. The first pillar introduces storytelling on TikTok through highlighting characteristics of short-form video on this platform, differences between traditional storytelling and short digital storytelling, and importance of visual narratives in attracting followers and enhancing engagement.

The second pillar focuses on building short digital story, that’s how to select the core idea suitable for short videos, identify target audience and content type, in addition to video structure to ensure message clarity and increasing engagement and reach levels. The third pillar focuses on TikTok tools and techniques, including learning about in-platform editing tools, using text, filters and sound effects, as well as leveraging music and visual effects to serve the story and enhance visual and audio content quality.

The workshop targets content creators, those interested in digital storytelling, and professionals working in media, marketing, and communication, as well as individuals seeking to enter the world of TikTok with clear professional foundations. No prior experience or prerequisites are required, allowing easy enrollment terms for all levels.

Visual Storytelling on TikTok workshop is scheduled to be held on the evening of 19 February 2026 as part of “training workshops category” of Al Jazeera Media Institute. Enrollment is available on official registration channels of the Institute.
