Al Jazeera Media Institute administration received 42 ambassadors from Ambassadors of Sustainable development objectives Initiative on a visit with the aim of strengthening the link between media and community awareness.

Mrs. Iman Al Ameri, Director of the Institute, was briefed on ambassadors’ projects and ideas, and discussed with them the role of media in supporting objectives of sustainable development.

During the meeting, she expressed her pride of this generation and her support for initiatives that combine academic specialization and media skills, stressing that this type of integration creates influential opinion leaders capable of awakening societies.

The visit also included a tour to various facilities of the Institute, including TV studios and control room of news studio, where members of the delegation got to see closely and feel the real environment of media work.  The children also had an interactive experiment of reading news from the studio in front of camera, which ignited their enthusiasm and launched their imagination towards the future.

Commenting on this experiment, Haya Mohammed Al Mesaifri explained: "I discovered passion for media work behind the scene, where creative details that make excellence in media work are taking place."

Sarah Al-Khayarin pointed out that she aspires to be a university professor in Islamic studies and a broadcaster at the same time, explaining that combination of the two fields gives her the ability to spread knowledge and expand impact of educational message.

Sheikha Al-Hitmi also stated that during the tour, she learned about importance of appearance styles for the presenter, and understands that each style has a special presence and importance in delivering the message. She expressed her interest in joining a TV presentation workshop to prepare herself for achieving her dream in this field.

This visit comes in the framework of activities of Ambassadors of Sustainable Development objectives Initiative, which focusses on enhancing young people's awareness of environmental and community issues, and preparing them to be active partners in a more sustainable future.
