Among the new training titles organized this month by Al Jazeera Media Institute, comes a remote course on “Digital Environmental Journalism” which will be delivered by trainer Nesreen Bdour from 29 to 31 March 2026 via Zoom.

The course is designed for journalists, digital media professionals, and individuals interested in environmental issues who possess basic knowledge in journalism or digital media. It aims to develop their skills in order to produce simplified, credible digital environmental content capable of enhancing public awareness and audience engagement.

The course will focus on clarifying the concept of digital environmental journalism and its importance amid the growing global interest in environmental issues. Participants will be empowered to identify the most prominent reliable environmental information sources locally and internationally, and to read reports issued by environmental organizations and official bodies, with emphasis on verifying credibility of environmental information prior to publication.
Participants will also receive practical training in producing digital environmental content by simplifying environmental concepts for general public, employing environmental storytelling techniques, and utilizing multimedia tools (text, image, video, and infographics) to present environmental issues in an engaging manner. The course will further address key challenges facing digital environmental journalism, including misinformation and exaggeration, limited public interest in environmental issues, in addition to applying practical strategies to enhance audience engagement across digital platforms.

The course is delivered by trainer Nesreen Bdour, a weather news presenter and bulletin producer at Al Jazeera Media Network since 2014. She holds a Bachelor degree in Media (Radio and Television) and a Master degree in conflict management and humanitarian work from Doha Institute for higher Studies.
