Journalism Magazine publishes new issue exploring “Anxiety of Chasing Trends”

In its 42nd. issue, published under the title “Anxiety of Chasing Trends,” Journalism Magazine, issued by Aljazeera Media Institute, examines a range of current pressing issues in journalism. At the forefront is the impact of chasing trends on journalistic practice, alongside transformations imposed by digital platforms and artificial intelligence on news production and professional values. Under the heading “Familiar caution and new questions,” the editorial of the issue tackles question of whether journalism can preserve its professional values amid the rapid expansion of digital platforms, mounting pressure to reach audiences, and the growing role of algorithms and artificial intelligence in news production.

This issue features a range of topics, including journalism’s encounter with extraordinary of victims return from death into Palestinian memory, ownership of journalists’ digital legacies, the concept of citizen journalist, and the central role of image in media coverage. It also examines crowdfunding, media impact of the US elections, and journalists’ experience in war zones.
