Student Delegation at Al Jazeera Media Institute
AJMI - Doha
Al Jazeera Media Institute received a student delegation from SEK International High School on the morning of 5th of December.
The delegation was briefed on the history of the Institute and its training services, and in addition, they attended a workshop given by Jana El Messelmani, one of our producers, where students were introduced to types of news sources, establishing news priority, ways of news making. They understood the different stages in preparing news- from news collecting, news verification, news fact checking to the final stage of publishing information whether on the screen or on the website.
The visit was enriched by practical exercises that simulate the reality of live television as reading a news bulletin, which provided a real-life experience for students to see and live the challenges faced by media professionals, whether presenters or supporting technical teams.
For their part, students expressed their happiness with this visit. Student Ahmed Al-Madi said: "It was fun to learn about the work environment of Al-Jazeera, as I am passionate Aljazeera TV audience from home, and today I am here in Al-Jazeera Studios". Student Dalilah Elalfy added that she was looking forward to becoming a sport journalist and was excited about this visit, noting at the same time that the television screen never reflects the real amount of work and efforts made by an integrated specialized team, in from and behind the cameras, emphasizing that this was one of the benefits they had from this workshop and the practical exercises in the studio.
