Open coverage program presented by colleague Biba Ould Amhadi on preparation and conducting of continuous media coverage has achieved 850,000 views on digital platforms of the Al Jazeera Media Institute.

Given that Open Coverage Series is one of many educational programs published by the Institute with the aim of improving media practices at the level of MENA countries and is prepared and presented by media expert Mr. Biba Ould Amhadi.

 The program, which composed of eleven episodes, represents the essence of Al Jazeera’s experience in the field of live television coverage in addition to the standards on which, this relatively new journalistic art, is based at the level of the Arab world.

Our colleague Ahmed Sidi, who supervised the technical and editorial aspects of this program, says “The open coverage series represents one of the most important references for students, trainees and newsroom journalists due to the lack of sources that address this important field of media work, especially as it covers basic topics, as the series started by introducing the concept of open coverage and other related aspects such as coverage duration, factors affecting coverage, types of expected coverage and sudden coverage, requirements for running open coverage., implementation mechanisms, in addition to specifying roles of producers, directors, reporters and various teams that join efforts to make coverage successful and achieve their goals.

It should be noted that Al Jazeera Media Institute has launched three similar programs since the beginning of this year, including "Philology" program, which focuses on highlighting beauties of our Arabic language, and "Terminology" program, which explains in a simple way some concepts and terms commonly used in media.

Now the Institute is preparing to launch additional two new programs, one of them is dealing with media translation, designed and presented by the principal interpreter of Al Jazeera channel, Mr. Mowaffaq Tawfiq, while the second program covers aspects and requirements of work in television journalism, presented by Al Jazeera channel presenter Iman Ayyad.
