e-Learning launches Crisis Media Management
Al Jazeera Media Institute's e-learning platform has launched a new training course entitled Crisis Media Management. It addresses identifying and anticipating crises, both man-made and those over which people have no control. It also discusses the basics of managing such crises when they occur, and strategies that can be adopted after they have ended.
The course, whose content was prepared and presented by the trainer in the field of leadership, management and media skills, Samir Al-Shamaila, details the concept of crisis, its types, characteristics, the causes of its development and its impact on the future of institutions.
The course provides examples of how some countries and global institutions are dealing with the emerging Coronavirus (Covid-19) crisis, and examples of countries and organizations that have successfully managed their crises in the media.
In a related context, the e-learning platform continues to present its weekly interactive and live online series, which it has launched in early March. Furthermore, the journalist and documentary filmmaker As'ad Taha will present on Wednesday and Thursday, April 15-16, a live window entitled How do we tell a documentary story?
