Launching of the first diploma in Electronic Digital Media for 41 trainees

The first Digital Diploma organized by Al Jazeera Media Institute in accordance with blended learning system was launched on the thirtieth of June with the participation of 41 trainees.

This diploma lasts for five months, to cover nine educational fields in addition to a graduation project.  It focuses on aspects of knowledge and skills that needed by everyone interested to specialize in digital media field, starting by rules of digital storytelling for multimedia, strategy building for social media platforms, employing mobile technologies in the production of various forms of journalism, podcast content up to the stage of producing a data-backed story committed to ethics of journalism in digital age.

Bilal Benabid, supervisor of the e-learning website, revealed that due to the high demand for digital diploma, it’s decided that a similar diploma will be launched after two months to provide a chance for those were not able to enroll on this diploma due to limited number.

Diploma program is offered in Arabic language with a selected group of trainers from Al Jazeera Media Institute including: Mohamed El-Shazly, editorial supervisor with the Digital Sector of Al Jazeera Media Network, Othman Kabbashi, supervisor of Al Jazeera Net Newsroom, Ezzat Wagdy, digital content producer and documentary filmmaker, Anas Bendrif, multimedia story producer, Arwa Al-Kaali, data journalist and university professor, Lina Meshaal, specialist in building marketing strategies, Faten Jabai, video journalist, Samir Al-Nimri, Al Jazeera correspondent, Khadija Ben Qana, anchor with Al Jazeera Arabic Channel and Abdul Karim Aweer, First podcast at Al Jazeera Media Network and finally Mohammed Khamaisa, journalist and researcher in media ethics.

The diploma consists of nine educational fields with learning duration of two weeks for each field, including attending self-learning and direct learning materials for a total of 208 training hours, divided into 20 hours of self-learning materials for the nine courses, 94 hours of live and interactive meetings via Zoom, and 94 hours of in-depth discussion through discussion forums.

It is noteworthy that a will not qualify for diploma certificate unless he successfully passes the nine educational fields, in addition to submitting his graduation project in the fields specified.
