AJMI ORGANISES ‘SMARTPHONE DOCUMENTARY-MAKING’ TRAINING IN SARAJEVO

AJMI - Sarajevo

As part of the Al Jazeera Balkans Documentary Film Festival (AJB DOC), participants of the festival are receiving training on "smartphone documentary-making" in Sarajevo. The training was held in collaboration with AJMI, UNFPA and Samsung.

AJB’s video journalist Faris Bajrić provided the young authors, journalists, and producers with insights into how they can engage in content creation using a smartphone for documentary filmmaking.

During the training session, the participants had the opportunity to understand the changes in the documentary film industry resulting from the use of new recording tools and to master the approaches and the initial steps in shooting and producing documentary films with smartphones. In the coming period, they will have the opportunity to apply the acquired knowledge, from the idea, through filming to post-production.

All training participants have 30 days to develop an idea for shooting a documentary film with a smartphone.

After the deadline, the training facilitator and representatives of the organizers will select the best idea for realization and award a prize of 1500 euros.

The winning documentary film will also have the opportunity to be screened at the next edition of the AJB DOC Film Festival as part of the "Smart Doc" selection.
