AJMI Starting the Podcast diploma

On May 20 Aljazeera Media Institute kicked off its Podcast Diploma with 9 trainees from different Arab countries. The program will last until June 8th. under the supervision of media expert Fadi Matar, training officer for Arab countries at the Academy of France Medias Monde in Paris and Mr. Abdul Karim Aweer, the producer and communication officer in the Podcast Department of Aljazeera Media Network digital sector.

Mattar, who deals with the content of the podcast in the diploma program, and whose training style relies mostly on practical training, began talking about podcast, its origin, spread, and its role in the affluence of Internet services and its continuous development, as well as its components, styles, uses and its commercial and economic feasibility. Then, he moves directly to the hands-on training and covered dependable methods adopted for editing podcast content and writing for the ear (audio text formulation) alongside with explaining and stressing commitment and reliance with the standards and principles govern these processes. 

He also shed light on the relationship of audio text with sound and the art of conversation, in addition to the elements, structure and core/essence of the audiovisual story, and how to deal with numbers/ dates in this type of text.

As the days go by, training will focus on voice, presentation, preparation for and producing interviews, as well as sound editing and mixing.

Abdul Karim Aweer will address, at the last part of the diploma program, the topics of publishing and promoting podcasts, after trainees completed their graduation projects.
